Just taking a look behind me in the stands and I can see Southampton owner Dragan Solak who has made the trip over to St Mary’s for the first time in a while.

He’s sat in the directors box while down in front of us is former Saints chairman Henrik Kraft sat next to ex-Arsenal executive vice-chairman Tim Lewis who left the Gunners in September.

Solak and the Sport Republic ownership group came under some heavy fire from Saints fans at the start of the season when they were so poor.

It was a combination of the owner and director of football Johannes Spors – also in attendance – who opted to give Tonda Eckert the job permanently and, as of right now, it seems to have been a call that has paid off big time.
