Several Leicester City players will be itching for the end of the Championship season now, so they can desert the sinking ship of their own creation.
Indeed, having scuffled with fans after Portsmouth, Harry Winks will be looking for a speedy exit route as soon as the Blackburn Rovers away clash is over on Saturday lunchtime.
Moreover, with Patson Daka’s contract up, he is surely going to just be let go of, with far too many wasteful performances from the Zambian striker this season confirming Leicester’s disastrous relegation to League One.
There is a strange set of circumstances for a few Foxes players, though, as they could well fail upwards, with several players tipped to move to the Premier League in the summer, despite a relegation blotting their CV.
The surprise players tipped for the Premier League
Despite this relegation being an obvious stain on their respective resumes, there are a select couple of players who will deem themselves too precious to battle it out in League One.
Abdul Fatawu will be one of those individuals, with previous Premier League interest in his services possibly reigniting, as he could be sold for a discounted price.
At just 22 years of age, too, a club like Everton could get even more out of the hot-and-cold winger, who has managed to bag nine league goals this season, despite his club’s relegation difficulties.
Top-flight suitors will also see plenty of promise in snapping up a 16-year-old prodigy like Jeremy Monga, who will have matured a lot this season, when being handed 26 Championship appearances.
Liverpool is allegedly keen on the homegrown Leicester talent, as he attempts to make a name for himself away from his hometown club.
Jordan James is another face being tipped to make the big step up to the Premier League this off-season, with Leicester’s chances of snapping up the Rennes loanee permanently extremely slim.
Of all those named, James is arguably the most deserving of a shot at glory at the very top, having been an energetic and classy performer, even when Leicester have slumped to relegation.
Could James excel in the Premier League?
While Leicester fans will celebrate seeing the back of the likes of Winks, they’ll be gutted to wave goodbye to James, at the close of the season at Ewood Park.
The tenacious Welshman is Leicester’s top goalscorer in the Championship this campaign at 11 goals, but he offers far more than just that potent goalscoring threat.
Every game he has lined up for the Foxes this season, he has given his all, with the current state of the playing squad summed up by the fact that a loanee is the one who cares the most about the almighty mess unfolding.

Proven in the Championship with former employers Birmingham City, as well, the next natural challenge for the 22-year-old is trying to make a name for himself in the Premier League, you imagine.
He has struggled for consistent form in Ligue 1, hence why he was chucked out on loan from Rennes.
But, off the back of such a lively campaign, when the consistent mood at the King Power has been so down in the dumps, his ticket to Premier League success might be forthcoming, with Leeds United allegedly interested.
Leicester fans will, no doubt, keep tabs on James’ career, as they attempt to forge their own success story in the third-tier.
