West Ham United are reportedly weighing up a move for Wolves defender Santiago Bueno as the club prepares for what it hopes will be a much-needed summer rebuild at the London Stadium.
For now, however, the Hammers remain embroiled in a tense fight for Premier League survival, despite signs of improvement under Nuno Espirito Santo in 2026.
There was at least a timely boost on Saturday, when Nuno’s side snatched a late victory at home to Everton, with Callum Wilson restoring West Ham’s lead after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had levelled the contest.
The Irons sit 17th in the table, just two points above Tottenham in the relegation zone.
After a deeply disappointing campaign, the East London club are expected to use the summer to regroup and reset.

West Ham eye move for Wolves bright spark Santiago Bueno
According to a report from Sport Witness, West Ham are among a number of clubs considering a move for Wolves defender Bueno, who has made 66 Premier League appearances.
The Uruguayan joined Wolves in 2023 and initially took time to find his feet at Molineux. However, in what has otherwise been a miserable season for the club, he has emerged as one of the few bright spots.

Alongside West Ham, Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Brentford have also been named in the report.
Wolves have spent the entire season in the relegation zone, with their fate effectively sealed recently following the Irons’ goalless draw at Selhurst Park.
Against that backdrop, Bueno is said to be among a number of players seeking an immediate return to the Premier League after the club’s drop into the Championship.
Staying up will be pivotal for West Ham
When it comes to summer recruitment at the London Stadium, the division in which Nuno’s side are playing will have the biggest say.
Currently sitting two points clear of the drop zone, the Irons are in a decent position, but the coming weeks will determine whether the club can genuinely rub shoulders with the aforementioned names when it comes to attracting players.

Wolves may have slipped out of the top flight with alarming ease, but there remain a handful of players likely to attract interest from clubs keen to capitalise on the collapse at Molineux.
Bueno is among them, though West Ham must first secure their own Premier League status if they are to place themselves in a position to profit from the Black Country club’s downfall.
