Police and emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash involving a silver VW Polo and a white Yamaha YZF motorcycle on Northam Bridge in Southampton at 1.20am on Saturday.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 17-year-old from Fareham, was taken to the hospital but subsequently died from his injuries.
Police say that his next of kin have been informed.

Mourners have been leaving sealed written tributes addressed to ‘Zain’, pictures of the teen, and flowers on a fence by the junction of Northam Road and Union Road.
Chair of Southampton City Council, Alex Winning, expressed his condolences to the family of the young man.
He said: “It is very sad news.
“I don’t know the full details of what happened. It is sad news without knowing the full picture.
“The main thing is to share those condolences out to those that knew him.
“It is right that the police investigate the incident, and I am sure they will do.”

A 17-year-old and a 29-year-old from Southampton, who were in the VW Polo, were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.
Police have now shared an update to say that the 17-year-old man has since been released from custody and will face no further action in relation to this incident.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old man has been released under investigation.
Police say their enquiries into this incident are still ongoing, and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward.

Northam Bridge was closed for a number of hours following the incident, and a Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We would like to thank motorists for their patience as the Northam Bridge was closed for several hours before it could be reopened.
“We would like to speak to any witnesses and, in particular, anyone with relevant dash cam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it.”
