Richmond Park Bowls Club will celebrate its 120th anniversary on Sunday, April 26.

The event, running from 9.45am to 4pm, will be officially opened by Tom Hayes, the Labour MP for Bournemouth East.

Established in 1906, the club is one of the oldest in Dorset.

The club, situated in Winton and Charminster, have had 2 men’s England internationals and Julie Saunders won the ladies world champion of champions in New Zealand in 2006.

The day promises to be filled with activities reflecting the club’s rich history and community spirit.

Attendees will have the chance to explore the club’s six-rink bowling green, which can host up to 48 players at a time.

A range of other facilities, including a licensed bar, a darts board, and a pool table, will also be available alongside entertainment from a quiz at the end of the month.

Richmond Park Bowls Club also offers coaching from beginner to advanced levels, and members also enjoy indoor short mat bowls outside of the regular season.

In anticipation of the special day, the club is also launching a crowdfunding page.

They hope to raise money for new equipment to promote bowling to those with disabilities, and the purchase of a defibrillator for Winton Recreation Park.

Bowlers and community members are all invited to the celebration.
