Leeds United’s memorable Emirates FA Cup journey ended at the semi-final stage, losing 1-0 to Chelsea under the Wembley arch.

A first half goal from Enzo Fernandez was enough to give the West Londoners a passage to the final, where they will face Manchester City.

Discussing the effort his team put in on the day and the competition as a whole, Daniel Farke gave his thoughts to the media after the game.

“We come away disappointed,” the Boss began, summarising the match.

“Because obviously we gave our supporters, our second to none fan base so much to dream about and of course, we would have loved to let them dream a bit longer.

“And after a loss and tight game, you’re always a bit disappointed. I don’t want to miss to say congratulations Chelsea, they’re through to the final.

“I think overall it was a very tight game and could have gone into both directions. I just saw the statistic in terms of expected goals, shots, shots on target, big chances missed, we were better.

“But it’s also fair to say that I think we were not at our free-flowing best in the first half. I think unnecessary losses of the ball and in possession we were sometimes a bit clumsy in the build-up.

“We won’t dwell on this loss. We had nothing to lose today, just a lot to win, and we are disappointed we didn’t win this game. But, once the dust has settled, everyone knows that we gave our supporters and our club so much to be proud of.

“It’s a testament of how well the players have done. From tomorrow onwards, we just concentrate on our bread and butter business, and this is to earn survival on Premier League level.”
