Nottingham Forest sent a message to West Ham and Tottenham ahead of Saturday’s games with an emphatic 5-0 win over Sunderland.

The Hammers and Spurs did manage to win their games on Saturday, but in fairness, the gap remains at five points with a game fewer left to play.

Who was your star man vs Sunderland?

Let us know your thoughts!

Vitor Pereira is keen for his team to continue winning football matches, and with a game against Chelsea to come next, there is every chance the good form can continue a little while longer.

Jamie Redknapp was covering the game for Sky Sports and he believes the nature of the Forest performance will have left Tottenham and West Ham worried.

Forest still sent a message this weekend, even if the team could only match the results produced by West Ham and Tottenham.

The Reds winning by five goals away from home was so important and has eased some of the anxiety that is crippling the fan base.

Forest will now switch their focus to a huge game on Thursday night in the Europa League, and hopefully, another positive performance can be forthcoming.

Redknapp was very impressed with the performance from Forest and issued a message to the club’s relegation rivals.

He said: “This is the result of the season. To go there in the predicament they’re in is an unbelievable result. I can only imagine what (Roberto) De Zerbi and Nuno (Espirito Santo) are thinking now, watching it behind their sofas. These three points are absolutely huge.

“Tottenham have to win at Wolves, West Ham now have to win against Everton.

“I don’t think anyone expected that result tonight. I thought before the game that a point would be a good result.

“But to go there and completely turn the goal difference in your favour and get three points in the manner they did will certainly send shockwaves through the West Ham and Tottenham fanbases, players and managers.”

😍How would sum up the performance vs Sunderland in just one word?

What a performance!

Forest will be hoping for some favours next weekend, with West Ham heading to Brentford and Tottenham facing a tough-looking trip to Aston Villa.

If those results go in favour of Forest, there will be a real spring in the step as the Reds take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Bank Holiday Monday.
