Tottenham take on Wolves at Molineux in a crunch Premier League encounter.

The pressure is now immense on Tottenham Hotspur, who are running out of matches to secure their Premier League status.

Spurs came close to ending their 14-game winless run in the Premier League last weekend, only to concede a last-gasp equaliser to Brighton and Hove Albion at home. That victory would have been significant in their battle against relegation, but instead they dropped two valuable points and remained 18th in the table.

Roberto De Zerbi remains confident that Spurs will avoid relegation, and the club have advertised the hiring of a leading sports psychologist to heal players’ minds. This shows CEO Vinai Venkatesham is now making efforts to give De Zerbi’s squad all the help they need to achieve a great escape.

Roy Keane makes Tottenham vs. Wolves prediction

Tottenham’s next assignment is a trip to Molineux to face Wolves on Saturday afternoon. The Lilywhites are aware that anything but three points will be a massive disappointment.

Saturday’s hosts had their relegation officially confirmed on Monday following West Ham’s goalless draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Wolves spent the entirety of their season in the bottom three, and the inevitable finally happened earlier this week. However, the Old and Gold have a strong record against Tottenham, unbeaten in the last six games, and will look to blunt the North London club’s survival hopes as the campaign enters its business end.

Molineux has not been a happy hunting ground for Tottenham, winning just three times since 2018, though Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane backs De Zerbi’s side to emerge victorious against Wolves this time around.

“3-1 Spurs. Do you know, it’s about time they showed a bit of fight, a bit of energy. A couple of lads coming back. Was Maddison on the bench (last weekend)? Spurs will be fine,” Roy Keane said on the latest episode of the Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast.

Tottenham have to show from the outset that they mean business on Saturday. They won’t get a better opportunity to register their first win under De Zerbi and get themselves moving up the table. Should results elsewhere go in their favour, the North Londoners could climb out of the bottom three this weekend. However, that will be contingent on a win at Wolves.

Wolves will be looking to add to Tottenham’s woes, and there’s every chance they’ll play freely now that the pressure is off with relegation confirmed.
