Christantus Uche was not even on the bench as Crystal Palace played out a dull 0-0 draw against West Ham.

It was the third Premier League game in a row that Oliver Glasner has overlooked the Nigeria international.

Uche is only available for Premier League football having been left out of the UEFA Conference League squad for the knockout phase to make room for Jorgen Strand Larsen, Brennan Johnson and Evann Guessand.

With Glasner now denying the Nigerian any football whatsoever, he has posted an understandably frustrated reaction on Instagram.

Christantus Uche appears to aim message at Oliver Glasner after yet another snub

The Crystal Palace No.12 posted a selfie on Instagram of himself looking very down with his hood pulled over his face, along with the caption: “**** off respectfully.”

Uche may well be addressing another problem in his life, but the timing of the post suggests it is very much aimed at his exclusion from the squad to face West Ham.

Crystal Palace have an obligation to buy the 22-year-old from Getafe for a sum of £17m if he were to make ten Premier League starts this season.

However, with only six games remaining, Uche cannot even trigger that clause, having failed to make a single Premier League start this term.

In that respect, the Eagles could have used these final six Premier League games freely to get a better look at Uche and see whether he is worth signing permanently this summer, although Glasner has other ideas.

It is a real shame for both Uche and the fans. The man born in Owerri has shown glimpses that he is a special talent, and surely would have offered more against West Ham than Brennan Johnson did, in what was another poor display from the Wales international.

The Crystal Palace No.11 is yet to score in 19 appearances since his £35m move from Tottenham in January.

Despite that, Johnson is still receiving regular chances, so you can understand why Uche may be feeling a tad frustrated in SE25 right now.
