Arsenal remain in an excellent position to end their two-decade wait for a Premier League crown and former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has shared his thoughts on whether they will get over the line

Arsene Wenger thinks former side Arsenal WILL win the Premier League despite their recent stumble. The Gunners remain top of the table with a three-point advantage over Manchester City.
But Pep Guardiola’s side could move ahead in midweek with a clash against relegation-threatened Burnley to come. That would see Arsenal relinquish a position they have held since October.
Despite that, legendary former Arsenal boss Wenger still has full confidence in the Gunners getting over the line. Speaking at an Abbey Road Studios fund-raiser for ProjectTwinning, the Frenchman said: “I believe that Arsenal will win the league.
“I deeply believe. It looks, to me, like common sense. I like Eze, Odegaard, Havertz and Madueke attacking (intent at the Etihad). Manchester City will not make the perfect run-in.”

Wenger is the last man to have helped Arsenal to a Premier League crown with the club, having won three titles including during the famous 2003/04 season where Arsenal went the entire campaign undefeated.
Asked if he misses management, he replied: “I managed for 40 years. I miss the grass, the contact, the communication. My luck in life…I was never attached to the past.”
Mikel Arteta is now hoping to follow in Wenger’s footsteps to become a Premier League winning manager. And speaking after the weekend’s defeat to Man City, he claimed that all was not lost.
Arteta said: “If they need to be more convinced, I think they are now more convinced. They were talking about it in the dressing room.

“It’s a new league now. They were a game in hand. We have three points of advantage and five games to play. So everything is still to play for.
“So we know how much we’ve won it and we’re not going to stop and we’re going to go again, that’s for sure. Obviously, they were very disappointed not to get a result from the game in the manner that it happened.
“That’s the feeling, immediately you could tell that they were talking about, and they said okay, we lost an opportunity today, but we have the biggest one now in the next five games, so let’s do it.”
Arsenal are back in action this weekend as they welcome Newcastle to the Emirates Stadium. They will then turn their attention to their Champions League semi final clash against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
