Khephren Thuram

Aston Villa, Manchester United and Liverpool are competing for Khephren Thuram, as Juventus now rush to a possible renewal.

This year, Sport Witness have covered Premier League interest in the Frenchman, who has become a pivotal figure in Turin.

He’s played 41 times across all competitions this season, really thriving as a ball-carrier from midfield. Thuram has also contributed to eight goals in the campaign, having showcased his importance in the Champions League as well.

He has become one of the best midfielders in Serie A. This has come with a significant challenge for the Old Lady, who now have to fight off suitors in the summer.

Aston Villa, along with Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly trying to take Thuram off Juve’s hands.

Juve working on renewal

TuttoSport report about the 25-year-old, making it clear that the Bianconeri aren’t letting Khephren Thuram go easily.

They have scheduled a meeting with his agent Meissa N’diaye to discuss a possible renewal. The Frenchman’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2029 and they want to act as fast as they can in the summer.

This is because sirens from Aston Villa, Manchester United and Liverpool have only grown. The three clubs really admire the midfielder and can end up making summer offers.

To make sure Thuram isn’t tempted, Juve are offering him a major wage increase too. He currently earns €2.4m per season but they are happy to pay him €4m per season, in the hope he accepts the idea of staying beyond the current campaign.

The ex-Nice player is also seen as an ‘untouchable’ and would also be happy to stay in Turin.

Aston Villa should keep pursuing Thuram

The TuttoSport article feels like an attempt to praise Thuram’s agent, who also represents Jeremie Boga. Interestingly enough, Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara is also part of Ndiaye’s entourage and is one of his highest-valued players right now.

There is clearly a working relationship there and this can be something the Villans can exploit.

It will be especially interesting, if Juve fail to qualify for the Champions League. They are currently fourth in the table but the race is far from settled, with Como five points behind them.

Aston Villa do need midfield signings and if given an opportunity, Thuram can prove perfect.
