A spokesperson for the club said: “This week has been a very tough week for Bournemouth Electric and everyone associated with the club.

“We have lost two of the kindest souls we know, both have been taken far too soon.

“They both were fantastic men and both have been part of the club for many years.”

They labelled Charlie and Andy as two of the club’s ‘most dedicated and influential figures’.

Bournemouth Electric added: “Between them, they gave an incredible 70 years of service to the club — a testament to their unwavering commitment and love for the game.

“Their contributions went far beyond the pitch, as both men played, served as assistant managers, took on managerial roles and were active members of the club’s committee.”

It’s said that Charlie enjoyed a distinguished playing career before joining Bournemouth Electric, turning out for Poole Town, Bashley, Brockenhurst, Downton, Bournemouth Poppies and SK Sports.

Andy’s football journey saw him represent Cooper Dean FC, Imprint, Boscombe Legion and a brief spell at Bashley, before becoming a key part of Bournemouth Electric.

A spokesperson for Bournemouth Electric said: “Both men were known not only for their ability on the field, but also for their leadership, passion and dedication to grassroots football.

“They each celebrated success during their careers, winning honours with the clubs they represented.

“In recent years, as the club has moved forward under new management and ownership, Bournemouth Electric has progressed to the Dorset Premier League — a step achieved with the unwavering and unprecedented support of both Charlie and Andy.

“Their belief in the club’s direction and their continued presence helped drive that progress.

“Above all, Charlie and Andy will be remembered for the lasting impact they had on Bournemouth Electric and the wider football community.”

They added that the pair will ‘leave behind a legacy that will not be forgotten’.

The club said: “Their presence, commitment and spirit meant so much to the club, and they leave behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.

“The club believes that if it can continue to build on the kind of long-term support shown by Charlie and Andy, there is no doubt Bournemouth Electric will go from strength to strength in the years ahead.”
