Defender Branthwaite went down hurt in the closing stages of Everton’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The former Carlisle United player, from Wigton, looked devastated as he was taken off the pitch on a stretcher.
Manager Moyes, speaking to Everton’s club channels after the game, said the full extent of the injury was not currently known.
“Jarrad was probably the best player on the pitch at times today. I thought he played so well. I’m worried it could be serious, but we’ll need to wait and see.”

But he admitted it was a big concern.
“Jarrad was probably the best player on the pitch,” Moyes said. “I thought he played so well. I’m worried it could be serious, but we’ll have to wait and see.”
“[There’s no update] but I’m worried, though,” added Moyes.
Branthwaite, who missed the first half of this season whilst recovering from surgery on a previous hamstring injury, went down holding his hamstring in Sunday’s game.
The 23-year-old England international received treatment from medical staff before being stretchered off in the 87th minute.
The game was his tenth appearance of the Premier League season.
