NOW don’t all get your hopes up just yet. However much tens of thousands – if not hundreds of thousands- of West Ham United fans have been protesting and desperately seeking ‘regime change’ with the ‘No More BS’ campaign, it had been looking to have failed to bring about the regime change demanded by many.

Enter footballinsider247.com with their man in the know Keith Wyness (formerly an Everton CEO and now a ‘football consultant’), claiming that:

“David Sullivan and Karren Brady could be primed to step down at West Ham within weeks:

West Ham United owners David Sullivan and Karren Brady could step down at the end of the season, according to Keith Wyness…Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness says he would “not be surprised” to see Sullivan and Brady leave the Hammers when the season finishes.”

West Ham lost £104M – yet the chair and vice chair soldier on. Probably time for another pay rise.

Wishful thinking more like. Whilst Sullivan is now 77 years old he shows no signs of quitting the club at which he’s enjoyed something of a frosty relationship with supporters. So far the protests have seemingly had little impact on the West Ham chairman – more akin to water off an old duck’s back.

Keith Wyness’ comments reported in football insider do, sadly, seem speculative rather than based on any hard evidence:

“We’ll have to see what happens with West Ham in terms of ownership. There’s got to be questions about Sullivan and the ownership going forward.

“The fans obviously have shown their unhappiness for many months now, many years even, with Sullivan and Brady. I wouldn’t be surprised to see something happening at the end of the season in terms of ownership there.”

Can’t help feeling I’ve heard that several times before. One day, it’ll be true. I suspect it is too much to hope that this summer it really might just become reality at West Ham United.
