Bruno Fernandes’ future continues to be a discussion point but Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens sees a player laser focused on winning the Premier League

Senne Lammens believes that Bruno Fernandes‘ sights are firmly set on the Premier League title amid talk of the Manchester United playmaker’s next move.
The Portuguese star laid on another assist on Saturday night as the Red Devils picked up three points at Chelsea. Fernandes, who has long been an impressive performer, is enjoying his best season to date with his attacking stats through the roof.
Such quality comes after a summer whereby he was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but eventually chose to remain at Old Trafford. He is the club’s most prized asset and would fetch a huge fee if they did move him on.
Fernandes, for all his brilliance, has only won two domestic cups during his time in Manchester. United have struggled to mount a season-long challenge for the title but the club’s new goalkeeper believes he is driving standards in pursuit of a league triumph.
Lammens said on Fernandes’ leadership style: “It’s the way I like it, to be honest. He’s not always the most vocal. He’s heard when he needs to be, especially before big games. Or when we have maybe more difficulties he’s also someone who’s very, very hard on himself and on everybody else.

“That’s why maybe sometimes he can look a little bit frustrated when it’s not going our way. But that’s also the way it has to be at this level, I think, because he wants to win Champions Leagues and he wants to win the Premier League, so that’s what he’s thinking about and that’s what tries to give us as well.
“He tries to take us to his level as well, so it’s a leader on and off the pitch. He’s very demanding of course. But he also knows that in the Premier League, in the way we are, you can win and lose some games. The most important thing is always how you react to it.”

Senne Lammens has no issue with Bruno Fernandes’ direct style
Fernandes spoke openly last week about his desire to win the league, and whilst he knew the club could offer him no assurances, he simply wanted to know that United could be in the fight.
They’ve impressed in spells during his time. Putting together winning runs under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and now with Michael Carrick at the helm, but been unable to remain consistent across an entire season.
United are poised for a return to the Champions League with their mid-season revival helping them rise up to third. That will enhance their financial situation and also aid their recruitment.
