From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it’s investigating the financials of Elon Musk’s pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, ‘The A Word’, which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Everton host rivals Liverpool at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time in a crucial Merseyside derby in the Premier League.

The Toffees are in the hunt for European football and have the chance to close the gap to Liverpool to just two points, which would add more misery on under-pressure boss Arne Slot.

Liverpool suffered their 17th defeat of the season as they went out of the Champions League to holders Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, in a match that also saw them lose Hugo Ekitike to a serious injury.

Now, the Reds face a fight to secure the final Champions League qualification spot and keep a hold of fifth place, but Everton themselves could enter the race if David Moyes oversees a win against their fierce city rivals.

Here’s everything you need to know

Kick-off is at 14:00 BST on Sunday 19 April at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
