Bruno Guimaraes admits he has mixed emotions after finally making his return from injury for Newcastle United.
Guimaraes came off the bench for Newcastle United during their dreadful defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday and provided an almost instant impact.

It was his intervention that teed up William Osula for Newcastle’s goal to level the scores after Marcus Tavernier had put the Cherries ahead. Eddie Howe’s side, however, conceded another late goal when Adrien Truffert scored the winner.
As is increasingly becoming the case, Newcastle were awful against Bournemouth, compounding the miserable feeling around the club right now amid suggestions big players could be sold this summer.
Guimaraes admits he’s sad about it all.
Guimaraes sad about Newcastle United crisis
After the game, the skipper took to social media platform Instagram.
He wrote: “So many emotions right now! I’m happy to be back after almost 10 weeks. I want to thank everyone who was part of my recovery, without exception. I went through one of the most difficult moments of my career, but by the grace of God, I’m back and ready to go again.
“I’m sad about the moment we are currently going through at the club. I think that, for the first time in almost five years that we’ve been together, this has been the toughest period. The only way to get through a moment like this is to keep quiet and work even harder.
All opinions welcome but I would LOVE to know how you think Howe can turn this around….

“I want to thank everyone for the messages of support during these 10 weeks. Without a doubt, your encouragement was essential in giving me the strength to recover as quickly as possible.”
Guimaraes talked of how delighted he was to return to action, but expressed his sadness about the crisis facing the club right now.
Sadly, Guimaraes is one of the players being linked with a move away from Newcastle this summer.
There is no suggestion that the Brazilian actually will depart, but the speculation hanging over so many players right is hardly helpful.

During his post-match press conference, a visibly downbeat Howe talked of how the return of Guimaraes can be a catalyst for the team in the final five games of the season.
“You go back to Will Osula’s goal against Manchester United not so long ago that won us the game. That was an individual moment, action. We haven’t had enough of that.
“Hopefully with Bruno’s return – if we can keep him fit – could be the catalyst for that.”
Newcastle’s performance did improve when their skipper returned to the fold, there is little doubt about that.
Still, it would be foolish to pretend that Newcastle have been perfect when Guimaraes has played this season. That is far from the case.
Guimaraes is one of the greatest midfielders in Newcastle United history and having him back can only be a good thing.
Quite how much of a difference one man can make to the team, however, really does remain to be seen.
