Former Celtic coach Adam Sadler looks set to be relegated as Leicester City look to drop into EFL League One. The English coach, who was brought back to The King Power Stadium in January, has been unable to arrest their awful form as they steadily slid down the Championship table.

Now, Leicester look set to make it back to back relegations after a 1-0 defeat away to Portsmouth means that they are eight points from safety with three games remaining. There were ugly scenes at Full Time at Fratton Park as the Leicester players were given a loud rebuke from the travelling fans.

Sadler was brought into the Celtic coaching setup after Harry Kewell departed, assisting Brendan Rodgers, who he worked with at Leicester.

Sadler left his post as Celtic First Team coach in late October after Rodgers’ sensational departure. The Irishman was confirmed as the Al-Qadsiah manager in December but there was no reunion with Sadler despite John Kennedy and Jack Lyons following Rodgers to the Saudi Pro League.

Leicester, who won the Premier League in the 2015/16 season, have struggled in recent seasons to balance the books as financial fair play rules curtailed any attempts to become a force competing for Europe. This resulted in Brendan Rodgers leaving by mutual consent, after two 5th placed finishes, an FA Cup win and a Community Shield success, a move which opened up his return to Celtic Park,
