The big man can’t wait for a thrilling couple of days including a defining weekend in the Premier League.

We’re all set for a blockbuster weekend of Premier League action and Paddy can’t contain his excitement!

Who will come out on top as Manchester City host Arsenal on Sunday and there’s also the small matter of the latest Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool…

Elsewhere, it’s Scottish Grand National day at Ayr on Saturday and the World Snooker Championship also gets underway this weekend.

The big man has also discussed who could win the All-Ireland title. Take it away, Paddy!

A super Premier League weekend

IT felt like we reached the crunch point in the Premier League long ago, but this weekend really could be defining.

Those Arsenal fans who were getting very cocky about their side winning a quadruple a few weeks ago are singing a very different tune now because their team look more nervous than a bungee jumper with a fraying rope around his ankle!

Arsenal have been pretty awful in April over the last few seasons and just when it seemed as if Mikel Arteta’s side were going to buck that trend this year, the next few days could make or break their title challenge.

If the title favourites beat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow, my decision to pay out on the Gunners winning the title a few weeks ago will be justified.

Alternatively, defeat for Arsenal at City and Pep Guardiola’s men will have a chance to draw level with them when they play lowly Burnley next week.

This title race is getting very tense and City are firm favourites to add even more spice by winning the big one on Sunday.

City striker Erling Haaland is a nice price to score the opening goal, with Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres over double his price to beat him to the punch.

Guardiola’s men may be installed as title favourites if they beat stuttering Arsenal and delightfully, City’s showdown with Arsenal is not the only pivotal game on the game this weekend.

Tottenham are a decent price to breathe some much-needed life into their season with a win against Brighton in the 17:30 kick-off today, with Seagulls striker Danny Welbeck a nice price to score the first goal in this one.

Another big story to follow tomorrow is the ongoing Arne Slot soap opera at Liverpool and he will have nowhere to hide if his side are beaten in tomorrow’s Merseyside derby.

Everton will fancy their chances of winning, with the returning Alexander Isak a tidy price to score the opening goal in this game.

The Toffees will be just two points behind Liverpool if they win tomorrow and their double-figure odds to finish in the top five and secure Champions League qualification will be slashed if they win the first derby game at their new stadium.

Ruby’s Scottish Grand National pick

IT’S Scottish Grand National day at Ayr and Ruby Walsh has given us his verdict on how the big one will play out.

After I Am Maximus cemented his status as one of the all-time Aintree greats with his second win in the English National last Saturday, Willie Mullins is in the mix again to add another big title to his collection.

Willie’s son Patrick will be riding Road To Home, but Ruby thinks the favourite is the horse to beat here.

“I’m pretty sweet on Kim Roque,” Ruby told us, as he backed the Joseph O’Brien-trained favourite.

“Traditionally, you need to have early pace to get a prominent position in this test, and he showed he can do that with his run at Leopardstown.

“He found himself towards the rear in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham and was an eye-catcher when making up plenty of ground behind the first three, who all raced prominently.

“He did an incredible job to finish fourth, and with JJ Slevin taking the ride for the first time, he ticks all the boxes.”

We are paying out on six places in this race, so there may be some good value to be had down the field in the each-way markets.

Joe Cole’s Chelsea v Man Utd shout

IT’S Chelsea v Manchester United in the Premier League tonight and Blues legend Joe Cole has given us his verdict on what should be a cracker at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior and United’s interim manager Michael Carrick are both in need of wins, with Joe predicting this will be a high scoring draw.

“Chelsea were well beaten by Manchester City last week. Manchester United not only lost to Leeds on Monday, but Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire are both out suspended too,” he told us. “I think that this will end in a score draw, perhaps 2-2.”

All-Ireland outright betting

DUBLIN’S odds to win the All-Ireland title look very strange right now, with Ger Brennan’s men a distant price to win the big one at Croke Park later this year after a horrible start to 2026.

They need to find form quickly and they should have too much for Wicklow tomorrow, who are a double-figure price to pull off what would be a huge upset win in the Leinster Championship.

Kerry are favourites to win the All-Ireland title once again, with Donegal and Armagh in with a shout.

Ronnie to go all the way?

THE World Snooker Championship gets underway this weekend and most of us will be cheering on the great Ronnie O’Sullivan as he has another go at winning a record eighth world title.

We have boosted the odds on ‘The Rocket’ making history at The Crucible this year, with defending champion Zhao Xintong the hot favourite to win again.

Judd Trump is next in the betting, with Mark Selby always a man to watch in a tournament when he gets a chance to grind opponents down over long matches.
