At 10 Holland Road in Southampton, four sycamore trees are set to be re-pollarded, with approximately five metres to be removed from their height to just above previous pollard points.
Comprehensive tree management is also proposed as part of ongoing maintenance work at Highfield Campus, University of Southampton.
The application covers a wide range of species, including birch, sycamore, holly, lime, oak, callery pear, liquidamber, tulip, Judas tree, Chinese fir, silver fir, copper beech and box elder and ‘Brilliantissima’ acer.
Planned works include crown lifting, reduction and reshaping of multiple trees, as well as removing dead wood and severing ivy.
Additional comments refer to the need for watering, feeding and mulching, as well as ongoing formative pruning and new tree maintenance.
In another application, a large yew tree at 61 Lower Brownhill Road is to undergo a one to two metre reduction of its full crown.
A second yew tree in Southampton, along with an oak, is also proposed for reductions of up to two metres.
