Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Rob Edwards believes Leeds United’s position in the Premier League table does not reflect the level at which they have played at this season.

Ahead of tomorrow’s clash, the Whites sit 15th, six points off the relegation zone and some 19 ahead of bottom club Wolves, who could be relegated on Saturday should they lose and Tottenham Hotspur beat Brighton & Hove Albion.

Monday’s win at Old Trafford – their first in the league for 45 years – denoted United’s first Premier League away win since beating Wolves at Molineux in September. The six others have therefore all come at home and Edwards is aware of the hostile atmosphere Elland Road can provide.

“Elland Road is always a really good atmosphere as well. They’ll be buoyed by the result last time out away at Manchester United, so it should be a really good game for us,” he said.

Leeds United have is offering this season’s home, away and third adult jerseys for £25 ahead of their trip to Wembley FA Cup semi-final.

Edwards – who lost 3-0 to Daniel Farke in his only meeting against him while Luton manager in November 2024 – paid testament to the work his counterpart has done at Elland Road and pointed out the strengths of the home team.

He added: “I think he’s a brilliant manager. I think he’s done a great job. I actually think the performance levels consistently for a long time now are above where they are, especially in the league.

“They’ve done great and have some really good players. They have a great way of playing – aggressive, very dynamic, quick, loads of intensity, so it will be a very challenging game.”

As for team news, Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone – who has not played in the Premier League in 2026 – is out with a shoulder injury, while defender Yerson Mosquera is suspended due to yellow card accumulation. Matt Doherty faces a late fitness call but Enso Medina is out with a meniscus knee injury.

Ao Tanaka is fine to feature for Leeds, with his issue sustained against Man Utd only cramp. Joe Rodon, Daniel James and Anton Stach had not returned to training by Thursday, although Farke did not rule out any potential late “surprises.”
