The Premier League have announced that Chelsea’s Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest will take place on a Monday, just three days before their Europa League semi-final.
Every Premier League game is crucial for the Blues between now and the end of the season as they try and secure Champions League qualification for next season, and the financial benefits that come with that.
Liam Rosenior desperately needs a drastic turnaround in form, and one of the games he will be highlighting as a non-negotiable to win is the match against Forest at Stamford Bridge on May 4.

“It will be the only time this season a team in the Europa League or Conference League has been scheduled on the Monday.”
Chelsea have eight days’ rest after their FA Cup semi-final before they are back in action against Forest, and will not play again after that game until they travel to Anfield five days later.
While no one wanted the Blues to exit the Champions League, the extra rest it has allowed them between games could play a part in whether they finish in the top five or not.

Despite not being involved at all, Chelsea will be hoping Forest are defeated by Villa in the Europa League semi-final.
A top-five finish for Unai Emery’s side as well as triumph in the European competition would allow the top six in the Premier League to qualify for the Champions League.
This is currently the position Chelsea find themselves in the Premier League, with them unlikely to overtake them before the season comes to an end.
