Austrian, who won the Premier League and FA Cup with the Gunners in 1997/98, dies aged 48
Tributes are being paid to Alex Manninger, the former Arsenal and Liverpool goalkeeper, who has died at the age of 48.
The Austrian joined the Gunners in 1997 and made 39 Premier League appearances. He was part of the squad who won the Double of Premier League and FA Cup in 1997/98.

Manninger later joined Liverpool on a short-term deal in 2016, but didn’t make a competitive appearance for the Reds, retiring from football a year later.
He began his career with hometown club Red Bull Salzburg and played for 14 teams across Europe, including Juventus, Fiorentina, Siena and Augsburg.

Manninger won 33 caps for Austria, making his debut in 1999, and was part of the squad for UEFA Euro 2008, which Austria co-hosted.
