WAB have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025-26 Fantasy Premier League season. And tips do not come any better at the minute than heading into an FPL Double Gameweek and investing in Pascal Gross, who has been excellent for Brighton since his January return from Borussia Dortmund.
Albion assets are currently proving immensely popular as the in-form Seagulls take on both Spurs and Chelsea.
Either through playing the Wildcard chip or simply making regular free transfers, the two most-bought FPL players heading into Gameweek 32 ended up being Brighton duo Jan Paul van Hecke (£4.5 million) and Danny Welbeck (£6.2 million). Bart Verbruggen (£4.5m) was sixth.
The trio were bought 1.5 million times ahead of Brighton travelling to struggling Burnley and with an eye on the Albion being one of six teams playing twice in FPL Double Gameweek 33.
Brighton triumph at Turf Moor
A 2-0 victory at Turf Moor made it five wins in six matches for Brighton. For those FPL managers who bought Van Hecke and Verbruggen, there was added triumph from a clean sheet.
Although it must be said a couple of insanely close offside calls needed to go in favour of the Albion to secure the shutout.
At the other end of the pitch, it was a bit of a frustrating afternoon for Welbeck and Jack Hinshelwood (£5.1 million) owners.
Dat Guy mishit an early good chance, before failing to convert from two yards on the stroke of half-time. Hinshelwood trickled the rebound wide and forced a low Martin Dubravka (£4.0 million) save after the break. Both could have assisted for Yankuba Minteh (£5.5 million), too.
Ultimately, the afternoon required unlikely goal scorer Mats Wieffer (£4.9 million) to step up. Twice. First sweeping home a low Pascal Gross (£5.5 million) cross and then finishing a composed shot from the edge of the box.
Furthermore, Wieffer once again reached the threshold for extra defensive contribution (DefCon) points. Meaning the Dutchman finished FPL Gameweek 32 with an excellent tally of 18 points.
Brighton FPL Double Gameweek Spotlight: Pascal Gross (£5.5 million)
Due to a potential injury for Hinshelwood and Diego Gomez (£4.9 million) being one yellow card away from a two game suspension, Gross was also a popular pick for Wildcard users ahead of FPL Gameweek 32.
He quickly rewarded them with an attacking return, assisting the Albion opener. One of three chances Der Kaiser created.
Since re-joining Brighton from Borussia Dortmund in January, Gross has been a vital part of the Seagulls starting XI.

From FPL Gameweek 22 onwards, nobody in the Premier League has more crosses (76), successful crosses (28) or corners (40) to their name.
And no Brighton outfielder has played more minutes than Gross, either.
FPL Gameweek 32 best of the rest
Two of the highest individual scores of FPL Gameweek 32 took place the night before Wieffer put Burnley to the sword.
West Ham United defender Konstantinos Mavropanos (£4.4 million) accumulated a whopping 21 points though a clean sheet and two goals as West Ham United thrashed Wolves 4-0 at the London Stadium.
Both Mavropanos goals were created by Jarrod Bowen (£7.6 million), who set up another to reach 14 points.
Bowen has not scored for eight games now – but that is fine when he has seven assists over the same period.
Big tallies also came for Noah Okafor (£5.5 million) and goal scoring defenders Marc Guehi (£5.1 million), Nordi Mukiele (£4.5 million) and Nico O’Reilly (£5.0 million).
FPL Gameweek 33 players in demand
Were it not for O’Reilly leaving Stamford Bridge with a hamstring issue after Manchester City thrashed Chelsea 3-0, he would surely have gone on to become the most-bought player heading into Double Gameweek 33.
But now Pep Guardiola first needs to provide reassurance to FPL managers that O’Reilly will be fit for the huge game against Arsenal on Sunday followed by a trip to Burnley next Wednesday.
Yes, City are one of those teams along with Brighton who participate in FPL Double Gameweek 33. Assets of Bournemouth, Leeds United and Chelsea will also be popular.
Meanwhile, Hugo Ekitike (£9.2 million) was the most-sold player ahead of Gameweek 32. A trend which will only gather pace after the Frenchman was stretchered off with a susepcted Achilies injury as Liverpool exited the Champions League to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.
FPL Gameweek 33 captaincy
Captainacy is another area where settling on FPL Double Gameweek players makes sense. Expect Erling Haaland to be the default captain for owners, despite not scoring in the league since mid-February.
As already noted, City are at home to Arsenal then away at Burnley. Although some may prefer a more maverick Cityzens armband choice of teammate Antoine Semenyo (£8.2 million).
Chelsea attackers Cole Palmer (£10.5 million) and Joao Pedro (£7.7 million) meanwhile get to host Manchester United and visit the Albion.
