Firstly, the Gunners still need to get the job done against Sporting CP, with Atletico awaiting the winners of the game at the Emirates Stadium.

As Mikel Arteta said, it is an ‘unbelievable opportunity’ awaiting his team, and the chance to face Atletico in a Champions League semi-final would be huge.

Ademola Lookman thinks Arsenal are a ‘strong team’

Ademola Lookman thinks Arsenal are a ‘strong team’ and he is looking forward to the prospect of facing them in a Champions League semi-final.

The 28-year-old is excited for the next round of the Champions League after his goal helped Atleti on their way to the win over Barcelona.

When asked about the possibility of facing Arsenal in the semi-finals, Lookman told DAZN Football: “Another strong team, another top team.

“You know, we’re in the semis of the Champions League, whoever we get is gonna be top, so, you know, just the occasion, we’re looking forward to it.”

If Arsenal could only win one trophy out of the Premier League and the Champions League this season, which one would you pick and why?

Lookman was linked with Arsenal last summer; however, the winger could now come back to haunt them in Europe.

Instead, the North London club opted to move for Eberechi Eze, who still has much to prove in N5 following a mixed debut campaign.

Meanwhile, Lookman has been in fine form since signing for Diego Simeone’s team, netting six goals and four assists in 17 matches.

Going away to the Metriplotano will be very tough, but Barcelona and Bodo/Glimt have both shown them that it is very possible to win there.

Arsenal have a huge opportunity to make history by reaching back-to-back Champions League semi-finals and then the final for just the second time.
