Jadon Sancho, Emi Martinez and Tyrone Mings all trained at Bodymoor Heath on Wednesday morning ahead of Thursday’s clash with Bologna.
Martinez pulled out of Aston Villa’s starting XI for the match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday after feeling pain in his calf.
Marco Bizot was called up to start in Martínez’s place, but the Argentina number one will now be monitored ahead of Thursday night.
Sancho, meanwhile, is nearing a return from a shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined for the last two matches against Bologna and Forest.
The winger fell awkwardly in a friendly match in Spain against Elche CF and was expected to miss around three weeks of action.
Mings was also in training on Wednesday morning after missing Aston Villa’s draw at the City Ground, with manager Unai Emery saying the defender felt pain at the end of last week.
