Several times v St Mirren McGregor had the chance to play someone down the wing or through on goal and decided to pass it back to Scales or Trusty. His reluctance to move the ball forward is infecting the entire team.
I don’t think he’s completely finished, but he’s done as a starter. It’s just what happened with Brown all over again because Celtic refuse to accept when an influential player has lost that influence.

Disgraceful really.

I honestly do not think we have much of a choice at the moment but to play him.
We have no one who can play that role. It’s an abomonation that that’s the case, EVERY window for years and years we wait for a 6 and never get one. McGregor playing there himself was the consequence of our inability to recruit for this position.
But that lack of options, plus the invaluable leadership McGregor brings at a moment when it’s needed most, means if he can physically play he plays.

Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results. Worth noting that Brown and McGregor both started at the club as largely attacking midfielders and we just decided to make them 6s rather than properly recruit. I’m not saying it hasn’t been successful but our complete lack of ability to recruit a 6 is short sighted.

Give the band to Tierney and bow out gracefully, id rather see Forrest start than mcgregor these days

When these guys hit their 50s and 60s are their bodies just going to fall apart? Seems like we’re completely running them into the ground, can’t be good for the body later in life.

Its Brown all over again. An increasing negative influence on the team. Passing sideways and backwards, gets outran and dispossessed easily in a really vital area of the pitch
And then there’s the fucking constant pointing which is really grating every time you see him do it
MON is starting 3 slow midfielders and 1 is carrying an injury. No wonder we’re struggling to impose ourselves in games
