Music in the City will take place in Southampton on September 12, backed by GO! Southampton.

The festival brings communities together through free live performances in restaurants, pubs, shops, cultural venues and outdoor spaces.

Stephen Manion, executive director of GO! Southampton, said: “We’re delighted to sponsor this year’s Music in the City and help champion local artists and venues through live music.

“This is an opportunity for rising stars and seasoned artists to perform in front of new audiences and help the city celebrate its rich cultural spaces.”

Now a firm fixture on the events calendar, the festival supports businesses by increasing footfall.

Chris Orr, festival organiser, said: “We welcome GO! Southampton’s support and sponsorship.

“It will make a big difference to our project and help us grow towards a more secure future for the event and everyone involved.”
