Liverpool could be about to lose a third club legend in one window, with Alisson Becker to Juventus looking more likely by the day.

Despite a one-year contract extension being triggered just weeks ago, there’s no guarantee he will be at Anfield next season. In fact, it’s becoming quite clear that the direction of travel is towards the exit door.

Well, that’s if reports from Italy are accurate. They have been reporting on Juventus’ interest in Alisson for some time, and now claim the Brazilian is agreeable to the move, even if it means taking a significant step down in one regard.

Who was Liverpool’s best player during the much-needed win over Fulham?

We think we might know the winner 😁

La Gazzetta dello Sport did a piece on Juventus’ Champions League qualification prospects, discussing how their end-of-season fate could influence summer proceedings.

Man City’s Bernardo Silva was mentioned as a player whose decision would depend on how the season finishes, but they claim Alisson has no such reservations. Apparently, he has said ‘yes’ to the move in ‘recent days’, not concerned by the prospect of playing in the Europa League.

Alisson may be 33, but he is still a top goalkeeper — someone who still belongs in Europe’s elite competition. That he would give that up suggests he really wants a Serie A return.

It would be yet another high-profile departure from a Liverpool squad already lacking in numbers. If he is to leave as well, it necessitates another massive summer spend.

Giorgi Mamardashvili is ready to take over from Alisson

When Alisson leaves, whether this summer or next, there is going to be a drop in quality at the goalkeeper position. That’s obvious.

The Brazilian is one of the best to grace the Premier League, and regardless of how well Giorgi Mamardashvili does, he has a ways to go to reach those levels.

But the transition is going to happen, and Liverpool have done everything they can to make it a painless one. Bring in a highly regarded keeper entering his prime to act as an understudy initially was the perfect approach.

What should Liverpool do with Alisson Becker? 🐐

Giorgi Mamardashvili will be watching closely…

Now, the training wheels must come off and Mamardashvili must step up to the plate.

As for Alisson, he should be allowed to make this decision on his future unimpeded, in respect of all he’s done for Liverpool.
