If Arne Slot can’t survive past the end of the season at Liverpool, the next man to walk into the job will be thanking his lucky stars.

That’s according to former Red Jamie Redknapp, who returned to the topic of possible next managers despite Liverpool dispatching Fulham with relative ease on Saturday.

He is still behind Slot, but admits that a change in manager would be quite a positive for whoever would come in. And his reasoning centres around two Liverpool players in particular.

Who was Liverpool’s best player during the much-needed win over Fulham?

We think we might know the winner 😁

Slot’s Liverpool future is uncertain, and will remain as such until we know what the outcome of the season is.

If we get to May and the decision is reached to part ways with the Dutchman, someone is going to walk into a pretty sweet situation.

As Redknapp explained during post-match analysis on Sky Sports: “For Arne, he hasn’t perhaps had the opportunity to work with all of the players that he’s brought in, and if they were to make a change, somebody’s going to get really lucky with this group.

Now, yes, they need a bit more energy bought into the team and how they’re going to play going forward is going to be interesting, but there are a lot of quality players.”

It’s fair to argue that Slot has been dealt a rough hand in terms of fitness. A third of his summer spend has been sidelined for most of the season.

And that’s where Redknapp thinks the untouched potential with this side lies.

He continues: “I think if you look at that 52 point mark, if Alexander Isak would have been fit, you could have guaranteed there’d be a lot more points on the table because he would have given you a lot more goals.

“Ekitike got injured as well. He’s been in and out of the team. So, there are problems with the team, but there are also things to look at, and if you were a manager or looking for an opportunity, looking from the outside in, I’ll tell you what, there’s still some really good players.”

Ekitike and Isak are yet to be unlocked as a duo, but we can all see the world-beating potential there.

Are Liverpool in danger of blocking Rio’s pathway with a new signing this summer?

Should they make a new signing after all?

We’ve spent much of the season discussing possible replacements for Slot at Liverpool, but the fact of the matter is that the club should have their pick of the bunch if the position becomes open. Who wouldn’t want to manage one of the biggest sides in Europe with a squad chock-full of exciting young talent.

For now, though, it’s Slot’s team. With just a few weeks to go, no decision is going to be made with regards to the manager. Better we get behind the Dutchman and back him to extract even more out of the team now that everyone is coming back to full fitness.
