The Gunners could never get going at the Emirates Stadium and slipped to a shock defeat ahead of next week’s massive clash against Manchester City.
After the game, Gyokeres questioned the pitch at the Emirates, and Shearer has had his way on the Swede’s latest comments.
Alan Shearer slams Viktor Gyokeres’ pitch complaints
Alan Shearer was not impressed by Viktor Gyokeres’ complaints about the pitch during Arsenal’s defeat to Bournemouth.
The Swedish striker claimed that the pitch was ‘too dry’ as he looked for an explanation as to why the Gunners struggled against the Cherries.
Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: “The pitch was maybe a bit dry there to be honest, so that didn’t help. But of course, as I said, we all need to do better and need to take our chances.”
Gyokeres’ comments did not go down well with Shearer, who told Mikel Arteta’s team that they can have no complaints for losing to Bournemouth.

The former Premier League striker told BBC Match of the Day: “No excuses today.
“The best team won, there’s no doubt about it. They wanted it more than Arsenal, and that is the most worrying thing.”
Shearer now thinks there is huge pressure on Arsenal ahead of the game against Man City, and they only have themselves to blame.
Meanwhile, Danny Murphy has questioned Arsenal’s game plan after Gyokeres’ comments, asking why they never went long if the pitch was dry.
“Funny enough, even if the pitch was dry, I don’t think they played enough long balls. Bournemouth pressed them high and went man for man at the back.
“You’ve got Madueke and Martinelli who started the game, I didn’t see them hit enough long balls and play some percentages and try and spin them round.
“So if the pitch is dry, you’ve got international players who need to make some different decisions.”
