Six people have been arrested following Norwich City’s 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town in the East Anglian derby.
Norfolk Police said it deployed a “significant” number of officers in and around Carrow Road and the city centre before, during and after the match on Saturday, which was watched by a near-capacity crowd of 26,826.
The arrests were for offences including criminal damage, common assault, affray and being drunk and disorderly, police added. All six remain in police custody.
“Our primary responsibility is to keep people safe; we’ve been able to do that as well as balance the needs of supporters,” said match commander Chief Supt Wes Hornigold.
