Jannik Vestergaard has been handed his first Leicester City start since January with Caleb Okoli missing from the squad to face Swansea.

Vestergaard made his comeback from a hernia injury over Easter but now comes into the starting line-up, partnering Jamaal Lascelles at the back.

Okoli is a surprise absence from the squad, and there’s no Ben Nelson included either, with Harry Souttar returning to the matchday line-up after overcoming his injury hell.

The Australian international could make his first competitive appearance since suffering his Achilles injury on Boxing Day 2024, while an outing today would be his first competitive City game in 840 days.

Meanwhile, Jordan James is fit enough to return to the squad after missing the Easter fixtures with an Achilles injury, but he’s only on the bench.

Gary Rowett sticks with Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Divine Mukasa as his midfield three, with Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi supporting Patson Daka up front. Ricardo Pereira and Luke Thomas remain at full-back, with Jakub Stolarczyk in goal.

With no Nelson in the squad, and with no place for Dujuan Richards either, Bade Aluko makes his return to the matchday 20.

City (4-2-3-1): Stolarczyk; Ricardo, Lascelles, Vestergaard, Thomas; Winks, Skipp; Fatawu, Mukasa, Mavididi, Daka.

Subs: Begovic, Souttar, Aluko, Choudhury, Aribo, James, De Cordova-Reid, Monga, Ayew.
