It was reported that in the evening of March 26, a teenage boy was assaulted by someone known to him in Shaftesbury, sustaining facial injuries.
Following the incident, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has now been released on police bail as investigations continue.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “A man has been arrested in connection with a reported assault in Shaftesbury.
“It was reported that at around 7.40pm on Thursday 26 March 2026 a teenage boy was assaulted by another teenager known to him in Mampitts Lane.
“It was reported the suspect then left the area in a red Audi A3.
“The victim sustained minor facial injuries.
“Following enquiries by officers, an 18-year-old man from Shaftesbury was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been released on police bail as further investigative work is carried out.”
