The Gunners have made left wing one of their biggest priorities for the summer transfer window, and Gordon is likely to be near the top.
The 25-year-old is enjoying another great season at Newcastle, scoring 17 goals and getting five assists in 45 matches.

Gabriel Martinelli is the next highest goal scorer with 11, showing that Arsenal really could do with a goal scorer like Gordon from out wide.
The issue Arsenal could find with Gordon is that Newcastle value him at £100 million, and that would likely need to change for the North London club to sign him.
Arsenal are confident that Gordon wants to join them, despite interest from Manchester United and Liverpool in the winger.
Mikel Arteta is the driving force behind Arsenal’s interest in Gordon, with the Spanish coach looking to add more Premier League experience to his attack.
Arsenal are also keen on Tino Livramento
Gordon is certainly not the only Newcastle star Arsenal are also keen on, with Tino Livramento another target for the Gunners.
Manchester City and Arsenal are both keen on signing the full-back, with the two clubs having a long-standing interest in the player.
The Gunners are also looking to sign a midfielder this summer, and Sandro Tonali is one of the players who has appeared on their list.
Finally, Bruno Guminares could also be targeted by Arsenal, especially given the fact that he has just two years left on his contract.
It’s impossible that Arsenal will be able to sign all four, so a decision will need to be made as to which Newcastle star they target.
