Bree is out of contract at the end of the season, and head coach Tonda Eckert has made it clear that he believes Saints should keep their starting right-back.
The 28 year old has started the last 12 league games for Saints and admits he would like to thrash out terms for a new deal when the time is right.
Saints are still battling to qualify for the Championship play-offs and have an FA Cup semi-final against Man City, but Bree’s future could be on the agenda.

Asked if there has been any progress, Bree told the Daily Echo: “With the position we’re in, we’re concentrated on getting through the next games.
“This is an important run that we’re on at the moment. There are more important things going on. Like I’ve said before, it’s something I’d love to do.
“When we can sit down and talk about it, I’d love to do it. We’re taking things game by game. Every game in the Championship is a massive one.”
Bree signed from Championship Luton Town in January 2023. He has made 65 appearances for the club, registering five goals and five assists.
