According to a report from TuttoAtalanta, Atalanta are interested in signing Zirkzee ahead of the summer transfer window.
It’s claimed that the Dutch striker could be heading through the exit door later this year, while Atalanta have held a historic interest since his days at Bologna, and are hoping to reignite their interest this summer.
It would make sense for United to allow Zirkzee to depart this summer, considering he’s behind both Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko in the pecking order, but they should be looking to get a long-term target as part of the deal.
Reports have claimed that United are considering making a move to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson in the summer, despite him agreeing terms with Atletico Madrid.

Bringing Ederson in for Zirkzee would make a lot of sense for United, given the latter is struggling for game time under Carrick.
Signing Ederson as part of the deal allows United to go all out for another midfielder alongside him, saving their budget, meaning they can transform their whole midfield this summer.
Ederson, who has been described as ‘out of this world’, is expected to leave Serie A side Atalanta due to his contract expiring next year, and their interest in Zirkzee gives them an ideal chance to complete a swap deal.
