The EFL has confirmed its shortlist for the Championship Manager of the Season prize, with Frank Lampard of Coventry City, Alex Neil of Millwall, Sergej Jakirovic of Hull City and Middlesbrough’s Kim Hellberg all nominated.

However, there was no place for the Saints boss despite the club’s strong form since Tonda Eckert’s appointment. The German coach has 16 wins and six draws in 27 matches.

It is a similar story in the player category, where no Saints representative has been included despite their impressive run.

The nominees for the Championship Player of the Season award are Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, Coventry City goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, Millwall winger Femi Azeez and Swansea City striker Zan Vipotnik.

Each has played a key role in their respective club’s campaign, with Vipotnik leading the scoring charts on 20 goals, while Rushworth has impressed as part of a title-chasing Coventry side.

Hackney has been a consistent presence in Middlesbrough’s midfield, and Azeez has contributed eight goals and seven assists for Millwall.

Winners will be announced at the EFL Awards ceremony in London on Sunday, April 19, with the event broadcast live on Sky Sports Football from 8.30pm.
