Kai Havertz’s injury time winner gave us a crucial 1-0 away victory over Sporting CP in Lisbon to take a slim advantage back to London ahead of next week’s second leg.

In a game of few chances, David Raya pulled off some brilliant saves before substitutes Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz combined for a well worked late strike to earn the win.

  1. Kai Havertz. 98% of the time on the pitch he's wrestling with his own runnning mechanics. The other 2%? Might win you a UCL šŸ˜„

  2. If we really want to win the Champions League and Premier League. Arteta must put his feelings aside and just bench Kepa for the rest of the remaining games…šŸ¤ž ā¤ā¤ā¤ My gunners love cuts very deep All the way from South Africa šŸ‡æšŸ‡¦

  3. Thanks Mr Raya, thanks Mr Havertz and you too Mr Martinelli. Ok,ok. Thanks to all the team and staff members for making Arsenal the club that they are… COYG…. Go get it if you can…..

  4. I’m not going to stop saying it. Kai is the most intelligent footballer in the team! His positioning and are always steps ahead anticipating every possible scenario, wherever he plays, be it midfield or attack. It’s like watching a grandmaster play chess.

  5. This is unrelated, but Declan Rice’s improvement on the ball is kind of shocking. You always knew he was technical, but now it’s how he receives, opens his body, and moves the ball forward quickly that stands out—it just looks cleaner and more confident. He’s never going to control a game like Toni Kroos, but he’s starting to operate in similar areas of the pitch, influencing the flow instead of just reacting. The one thing he doesn’t quite have yet is that angle manipulation—what Thomas Partey does so well, where he can take the ball under pressure, shift it across his body, and move the whole defense sideways before playing forward. Martin Ƙdegaard does something similar higher up the pitch. Without Partey, Rice ends up sitting deeper, doing more of the defensive work and covering for someone like MartĆn Zubimendi, and that kind of holds back the attacking side of his game that’s starting to develop.

  6. We need Saka to come back as soon as possible because he's our best hold up player. He’s not a classic hold-up player in the striker sense, but on that right side Bukayo Saka does three crucial things at once: he pins the fullback so defenders can’t step out freely, he receives under pressure and actually keeps the ball rather than just recycling it, and he buys time for the whole structure to settle—giving Martin Ƙdegaard time to arrive, the midfield time to shift, and the team time to reset its shape. This is why despite the stats, he's our best player and that's why majority of our actions take place on the right side given how great he is as a pressure valve.

  7. That is unbelievable assist and shot at perfect time. Cant believe arsenal did this in final moment. That was shocking. What a control ā¤ļøšŸ’Æ

  8. Dear Zubimendi, in order to be a GOOD DM, one cannot have so many back passes! You also need to practic your ball receiving and turning (quickly) skillsā¤
