On April 4, at 2.15 am, Poole Coastguard rescue team received a report of an individual had entered the water.
A multi-agency rescue operation was launched near Flaghead Chine and Baiter Slipway.
HM Coastguard Rescue Officers were tasked by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre to assist the South Western Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust and Dorset Police.
While on the route to Flaghead Chine, teams were redirected to Baiter Slipway, where the RNLI Poole ILB had already recovered a casualty.
Poole coastguard officers assisted in bringing the individual ashore before they were handed over to ambulance crews for medical care.
With concerns that a second person may have been involved, the Southbourne Coastguard Rescue Team and Poole Coastguard Rescue Team conducted a shoreline search of Flaghead Chine and surrounding areas.
HM Coastguard confirmed no further persons were found, and it was established that the recovered casualty matched the initial report, confirming no additional individuals were at risk.
A spokesperson for Poole coastguard said: “With nothing untoward found by HM Coastguard Rescue Officers and clarification that the individual recovered was in fact the same person from the initial passed location.
“All teams were subsequently stood down and returned to station following the conclusion of the incident.”
