The man sustained a serious leg injury after being reportedly assaulted by a group of men in Old Christchurch Road in the early hours of the morning.
The incident was reported to Dorset Police at 5.11am on Sunday, April 5.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Officers attended and the group of men had dispersed.
“The man was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.
“No arrests have been made and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 05:24hrs on Sunday 5 April to an incident in Bournemouth.
“We sent a double-crewed land ambulance to the scene and we conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital.”
