Two goals have been nominated for an FA Cup award
Antoine Semenyo and Erling Haaland are both nominees of an FA Cup award after landing on the scoresheet for Manchester City against Liverpool.
Man City smashed Liverpool 4-0 in the FA Cup quarter-finals. It was another dominant performance in the competition by Pep Guardiola’s team, who now face Southampton in the semi-finals.
The goal fest ended in a hat-trick for Erling Haaland. New signing Antoine Semenyo also grabbed one in the second half, courtesy of Rayan Cherki’s assist.
It was an encouraging afternoon for both forwards, as they have not had much joy in front of goal more recently.
Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo nominated for FA Cup Goal of the Round award
After scoring some beautiful goals against the Reds, both Haaland and Semenyo have received nominations for the Mitre Goal of the Round award.
It was Haaland’s second goal that made the nomination. After receiving the ball on the wing, Semenyo chipped in a cross, which was headed by the Norwegian striker.
Semenyo, on the other hand, received a through ball by Cherki, which the winger chipped into the net, leaving Livepool goalkeeper Girogi Mamardashvili clueless.
Haaland scores his 12th Man City hat-trick
The Norwegian goal machine’s performance against Liverpool saw him score his 12th Man City hat-trick to date. Now, Haaland has 28 career hat-tricks to his name.
