So much has been made about the impact that Paco Jemez has had at West Ham United, but his pep talk with Pablo Felipe did not work against Leeds on Sunday.
Indeed, while Jemez has proven to be an inspired appointment on the West Ham United coaching staff, even he could not get a huge tune out of Pablo.
How do you feel about fans booing Max Kilman? 😳
West Ham fans are booing Kilman whenever he touches the ball. #WHUFC

While the January transfer window signing has sometimes played well, Pablo endured his worst game for West Ham yet against Leeds.
He did very little from open play, saw a goal ruled out due to an obvious offside and missed his penalty in the shootout.
Handed instructions by Jemez before extra-time, they did not work out.
Jemez tried to help Pablo with his attacking runs against Leeds
According to The Athletic, the West Ham coach pulled Pablo to one side just before the start of extra-time after a 2-2 draw in regulation time. Â
Jemez is understood to have made a gesture to show Pablo the kind of attacking runs that he needed to make.
What did you make of Adama Traore’s performance?
Has he won you over?
Frankly, those instructions made very little impact. Pablo was as ineffective during extra-time as he was during normal time, with his disallowed goal a very frustrating example of his struggles.
Pablo wasn’t unlucky there, he had strayed well offside and did not do enough to get himself into a decent position.

In his 75 minutes on the pitch, the 22-year-old registered just one shot and it did not hit the target.
It was a very poor performance and one that threatened to take away the goodwill. The jury was out on a player who was still getting used to life at this level, but outings like the one against Leeds suggest he may never convince.
Perhaps Pablo will one day come good for the Irons but there will need to be a significant improvement on Sunday’s performance. Â
