Georgie Powell, home manager at Marjorie House, said: “We are proud to support Forest Holme Hospice’s first Sunset Walk, which will enable participants to take in the same views that our residents enjoy every day.

“Forest Holme Hospice is a cause close to the hearts of many of our residents and team.

“We are always keen to support our local community, so this is the perfect opportunity to honour the hospice charity while being part of this event which takes place right on the residents’ doorstep.”

The 8km route will take walkers up to Evening Hill, just in front of the care home.

The home’s residents will be waiting at the half-way point to cheer people on, with some of the care home team and residents also planning to take part in the event.

Claire Cooper, events and challenges manager at Forest Holme Hospice Charity, said: “We are thrilled to have the support of the Marjorie House residents and team at our Sunset Walk, which is set to be a very special evening.

“We are so grateful for their involvement and the encouragement they will be giving to our walkers, helping to create a warm and uplifting atmosphere for everyone taking part.”
