The furore over Nigel Farage’s visit to Portman Road and use of the Blues for political gain hurt a lot of people and caused a rift in the fanbase.
As a paper, we called for chairman and CEO Mark Ashton to apologise – which he did – and set the record straight about the visit and the ‘mistruths’ around it, which he did not.
We remain disappointed that neither Ashton nor the club took the opportunity to answer our questions or speak to us.
But today, as the team start their final push for the Premier League with a game at Portman Road against Birmingham City, the time has come to draw a line under the saga.
Because, once again, Kieran McKenna and his team stand on the verge of making history – and we must all back them every step of the way.
The Town boss and his players have done nothing wrong, and now have the chance to unite the fanbase as only football can, as the Blues embark on eight games in 27 days.

We will be there for every kick, covering your club for you and hoping to see even more success.
Because that’s what we do. Through thick and thin, through ups and downs, we follow Ipswich Town.
We support the club. We ask difficult questions when we need to. We’ve always been there, and always will be.
Most of all, we believe in Ipswich Town. An extraordinary club which unites people in this county and across the world like few others can.
And today, with millions of eyes on them in the wake of the events of the past two weeks, Town can make a statement which helps us all move forward as one. One club, one community, one goal. Ipswich Town.
So, to Kieran McKenna and his players, we say go and make us proud once more.
We still believe in Blue.
COYB! 💙
