Liverpool are ready to go all-out to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers this summer in a deal potentially worth more than £100m, according to journalist Charlie Gordon.
The Reds have had a poor season despite winning the Premier League last season and then spending £450m to strengthen their squad last summer, with the team sitting fifth in the table while they were humiliated by Man City in the FA Cup quarter-final this weekend, getting thrashed 4-0 at the Etihad.
Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has confirmed that he will be leaving Anfield this summer on a free transfer, despite having a year to run on his contract with the club, and now attention has turned to finding an adequate replacement, with Rogers among the top contenders.
Liverpool Want to Sign Rogers

Rogers, who has been described as ‘unplayable’, signed a new long-term contract at Villa Park earlier this season, but his performances mean that interested clubs have not dropped their interest despite the deal.
It’s understood that Rogers is looking to leave the club to play for a club that regularly competes for honours at the highest level. It’s also reported that there is an understanding between Rogers, his camp and the board at Aston Villa that this summer may be the best time for all parties to part ways.
Villa are under financial strain once again this summer, and should they miss out on Champions League football then keeping hold of him is expected to be nigh-on impossible. He could still leave even if they do qualify, though.
While Rogers is happy at Villa and has a good relationship with the board and manager Unai Emery, he is hopeful that they will not stand in his way should a reasonable offer come in, and Liverpool are among the clubs considering making one.
The Reds are ready to ‘throw the kitchen sink’ at a forward of his calibre as they look to replace Salah, with any deal likely to cost in excess of £80m, while it could even end up costing more than the record £100m Villa received for Jack Grealish.
Rogers Would Be Odd Salah Replacement

There is no doubting how good Rogers is, and how important he is to Aston Villa, but whether he could replicate that at Liverpool remains to be seen.
Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak will still all be at the club when Salah departs, and Rogers has never been someone who has excelled on the right side of the attack – with all of his best performances coming as a number ten or off the left-wing.
Bringing him into Anfield would be an exciting transfer, and a statement deal, but in reality it wouldn’t make much sense and would very much seem like a square peg in a round hole.
