The Seagulls head coach has been speculatively linked with interest from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.

He was reported by one source in Germany to have been considered by Leverkusen should they make a change at the top this summer.

Hurzeler said: “Of course, it’s always an honour to be linked with these kind of rumours and speculation, but I’m really happy here at Brighton.

“I’m very thankful for the trust and support the club gave me, Tony and Paul gave me.

“I’m really enjoying the time here and therefore we focus on a strong season to the finish now.

“I’m definitely totally committed. There are no other thoughts.”

Hurzeler has always been appreciative of the sense of calm and support around the club during tough periods, notably in the aftermath of last season’s 7-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest and this term’s 1-0 home setback to Crystal Palace.

He said: “In football, there’s not always this loyalty, not always this support from a club and I really feel trusted here.

“I really feel welcomed here. I can express myself. I can be successful with this team and there are so many things to play for until the end of the season.

“We want to go now a game by game and we want to have a strong finish and that’s my only focus.”

Albion trained at the Amex on Saturday with international players now back on board.

They are working towards next Saturday’s resumption of Premier League, starting away to Burnley.
