Bryan Mbeumo has singled out Bruno Fernandes from five Manchester United first-team players who have had a major impact on him since his move from Brentford.

The 26-year-old Cameroon international has enjoyed the opportunity to play alongside Bruno Fernandes in his debut season at the Premier League club.

Michael Carrick’s appointment at Old Trafford has allowed Fernandes to return to an advanced attacking position and put him closer to Bryan Mbeumo in the front set-up.

Mbeumo, who left Brentford last summer and arrived at Manchester United, has now explained why Fernandes “always” talked to him after he arrived at Old Trafford.

Bryan Mbeumo’s form has been brought into question in the weeks leading up to the March international break after not scoring in his last six Premier League matches.

However, the former Brentford ace has had a strong first season at Old Trafford so far, with Mbeumo netting 10 times and registering three assists in 27 matches.

Speaking to Manchester United’s official YouTube channel, Mbeumo revealed that a figure like Bruno Fernandes would be there for him during the “bad moments.”

The Cameroon and Red Devils forward added that the likes of struggling Man Utd striker Joshua Zirkzee would also put their arm around him for support at the club.

“And obviously, like those people like Josh who went along with me really well, helped me from the start,” Mbeumo said.

“And, obviously, Bruno as captain, who always, like, talked to me even when I had, like, maybe bad moments, but obviously, like a new space, new place, new environment, it is not always easy.

“So, he was always there to speak to me if I needed to, so it was really good.”

What is the reason behind Bryan Mbeumo’s form for Manchester United?

He’s not been at his best recently😳

Mbeumo was the second major summer signing that the Red Devils made in 2025 after Man Utd landed Matheus Cunha from Premier League side Wolves last June.

The former Bees forward admitted that the likes of Matheus Cunha, Leny Yoro and Amad Diallo helped him break down a language barrier at Old Trafford as well.

“Obviously, like when I arrived, like I was already with Leny and Amad because they speak my language, so it’s always easier,” he said.

“And Cunha as well, because he can speak French.”

Man Utd secured the services of Mbeumo after their third bid was accepted by Brentford last June, with the Red Devils paying an initial £65m transfer fee.
