There have even been calls from John Terry for Thomas Tuchel to include Dowman in England’s World Cup squad.

Furthermore, the 16-year-old was the best player on the pitch when Arsenal faced Mansfield Town in the previous round of the FA Cup. He also changed the game against Everton and was England Under-19s’ best player against Portugal.

All signs now point towards Dowman starting for Arsenal against Southampton this weekend. If he performs at his usual level, the Gunners should come away with a win and a place in the semi-final of the competition.
