He’s been quiet for the past few months, but finally, out of the undergrowth crawls Adrian Durham and he back to his favourite topic, jumping on the bandwagon with every engagement hungry pundit and talking shit about Arsenal.
This time. Max Dowman is in the crosshairs.
The final section of his ridiculous rant, spouts as follows:
“Max Dowman don’t follow their path. Forget who your family supports, that’s irrelevant now. Think about your career, go find a stage your talents deserve.
Real Madrid? Barcelona? Go find a coach who will get the very best out of you and bring you success in your career.
You deserve better than Arsenal.”
Oh just jog on.
Adrian Durham telling Max Dowman to leave Arsenal is the kind of take that makes you fully understand that he doesn’t know sh!t football, he is just throwing cr@p at the wall of opinions and waiting for some to stick.
The kid is a teenager, not a faulty kettle — he doesn’t need to be “moved on” because some pundit’s ego got bored and needs some clicks.
Arsenal have a proper setup, a real pathway, and a history of developing young talent. Durham’s answer to that is basically to kick the tyres, shrug dramatically, and yell “SELL HIM” like he’s trying to clear stock in a $2 shop closing-down sale.
It’s one of the great joys of modern football punditry: a youngster has a bit of hype and suddenly the same people who’d lose a debate with the aforementioned toaster, start acting like career architects.
The lad hasn’t even had time to finish being a prospect, let alone school and already someone’s trying to pack him off with a suitcase and a lecture.
Arsenal should be doing the exact opposite of what Durham suggests. Keep Dowman close, develop him properly, and ignore the noise from people whose football opinions come with pre-ordained bias and wrapped in the emotional maturity of a traffic cone.
Durham can keep the hot air. Arsenal can keep the talent. Dowman can keep on with The Arsenal and let this so called pundit, keep on embarrassing himself.
